has built the Zodia brand in tandem with master craftsman Fumio Chiba
"We want to spread Chiba polishing to the world"
He started playing golf when he was 23 years old and working as a salaryman.
As part of his work, he taught himself to make putters. He took the putter he made to a local tournament and had a top professional try it out without an appointment. He felt a sense of accomplishment when he received high praise. He then quit his job and aimed to become a professional golfer, but his experience of making clubs for himself sparked his interest in the world of design and development.
Convinced that Chiba Fumio is the only one who can carve the club exactly as he imagines, he tracks him down, having met him only once before, and tells him his thoughts.
After founding KM Produce, the predecessor of Zodia, he became the current CEO of Zodia, where he was in charge of club design and craft (assembly and adjustment). His skills were highly valued, and he was involved in adjusting the clubs of PGA professional golfer Isao Aoki (now Senior) for four years.
He also has experience as a caddie for LPGA professional Shiotani Ikuyo (currently a senior player).
In October 2011, as a related company, Zodia opened its first directly managed store, "Zodia Addict," in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture.
